Seems to me many fic writers write the doctor as being way too aware of his feelings and way too vocal about them ... he's plenty vocal, but not about personal stuff. He seemed "just right" in this fic. He's also "the same but different" in just the right way, imo. I also quite liked all the food comments, as it ties in to his words in the Lazarus Experiment about being hungry after regenerating.
