The feeling of his hand in hers, she wants to say it makes her feel alive. It does, but that isn’t why she loves it.
It’s the beating of his hearts, the double pulse drumming against hers as they hold tightly to one another but still not tight enough.
It’s the way he says he name, like it’s a secret prayer only he may say.
It’s the way he looks at her when she says she’ll stay with him forever.
In those moments she can feel it, the earth spinning on its axis, going miles and miles per second. Her feet can barely hang on. Her heart thunders in her chest, in her ears. She can’t breathe.
He doesn’t just make her feel alive.
It’s so much more than that.
