Summary: Her entire being ached for him.

Burying her face into the worn knit of her jumper, Rose tried in vain to find some hint of that last embrace they shared. It had been too long. Any residual scent of him was gone from the poor woollen thing, but that didn’t stop her trying when her entire being ached for him.
Some nights it was so painful she could hardly breathe, drowning in her own tears.
Breath coming in short agonizing gasps, Rose felt a tug at the back of her mind and a gentle ripple of comfort through her distress.
“I’m sorry, Baby,” she whispered to her belly.
She knew her emotions were affecting her daughter, but it was so difficult staying strong when everything was falling down around her. What she wouldn’t give to have his arms around her again.
